HABIGANJ-ASHUGANJ GAS TRANSMISSION LOOPLINE SECTION

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL), a subsidiary of Petrobangla planned to construct a 30-inc 54 km Habiganj-Ashuganj pipeline. The pipeline will help increase transmission and distribution of natural gas to the country’s northern district through Bangabandhu Multi-Purpose Bridge. The pipeline links the Rashidpur Gas Field (Habiganj) to the national gas grid at Ashuganj. As a result, more gas will be transmitted directly to the national grid and the additional gas will be supplied to the country’s western region.

SCOPE OF WORK

Agmor Consortium and Pegasus International were contracted by GTCL to provide project management and construction engineering support services for this project.

The scope of work included:

·         Detailed engineering review including route selection and  pipeline material and grade confirmation

·         River crossing design using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method

·         Preparations of documents for submission to local government authorities

·         Review of contractor proposals for impressed current cathodic protection system, trenching, rock dumping and commissioning.

·         Supervise, monitor and review installation & commissioning procedures & activities
