INSTALLATION OF 36” OD HIGH PRESSURE NATURAL GAS PIPELINE BY HDD METHOD ACROSS 14 RIVERS UNDER BIBIYANA-DHANUA GAS TRANSMISSION PIPELINE PROJECT

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL), a subsidiary of Petrobangla has awarded an EPCC contract to MEARS GROUP INC to install 36-inch HP NG Pipeline across 14 rivers (7 Rivers in Lot-1 and 7 Rivers in Lot-2) by SHORE approach HDD method. The extent of works include Design, Engineering, Procurement, Drilling. Construction, Testing & Tie-in to recently constructed 36 inch dia HP NG Gas Transmission Line under Bibiyana – Dhanua Gas Transmission Pipeline Project.

The pipeline will provide more natural gas to national grid.

Mears Group Inc., along with AGMOR Consortium Ltd are executing the project.

SCOPE OF HDD WORK INCLUDES:

·         Make survey and finalize final location of all river crossings.

·         Weld pipes for each crossing, make NDE, hydrotest and install Heat Shrink  Sleeves prior to mobilize at river side.

·         Prepare HDD Profile, Transition Trench Profile. Anchor patterns for general HDD work and for pullback etc. 

·         Rig positioning and Rig Anchoring.

·         Supervise and Monitor rigging operations, checking pipe stability keeping adequate coverage below the river bed etc.

Perform Tie-ins.
